Prints For Prints: Portland

Our first print sale was over the top fun!

We had 182 matted prints for sale, and only one hour for viewing and selling before the Ethiopia funk band, Tezeta Band, played.  We were so concerned about how the space would work out since it was not a well lit gallery, but the setting was perfect for our “rally” spirit.

Many photographers were in attendance and it was so great to see them in dialog and also viewing each other’s images.  We truly can’t thank them enough for their donations.  We know that the sale of these prints fell far short of what they usually sell their prints for, so it was an act of generosity that they donated their lovely art prints for this project.

And sales!  Yes!  We exceeded expectations and can now turn our focus onto selecting our printer and paper, as well as getting details ironed out regarding Ethiopia in-country transportation, fixers, translators, etc.

Prints are still arriving from all over the globe!  We will be holding a few smaller events where prints can be purchased, and they can also be purchased via the website at any time.
